De rust in Tromaville wordt wreed verstoord als Apocalypse Inc. de

alles uit de kast trekt om haar plannen tot uitvoer te brengen. THE
TOXIC AVENGER is de enige die ze nog kan stoppen. Onze crimefighter
worstelt echter de laatste tijd
met z'n emoties en Apocalypse Inc. weet op slinkse wijze daarvan

And here are the earlier Dutch releases:

Fortunately there seems to be at least some recognition in the Netherlands for what I see as the last anchor of civilised filmmaking. No less than four titles have been released here, under the Troma banner. The first two by a company named, SHOCK, which is specialised in releaseing wonderfully presented DVD´s of various kinds of films that some viewers would call SHOCKING. Many onscure Japanese titles, but also other oriental, Italian and American productions of the kind we love so much.
Early in the two-thousands Shock released both RABID GRANNIES and MOTHERS DAY simultaneously. The latter in the same version as the original Troma-release (albeit with Dutch subtitles), the former in an even slightly longer version that was taken from an old VHS release. The subs can't be removed, due to this source, but there are a few deleted scenes incorporated in the film, making it quite an interesting release. Especially when you consider that most DVD's that we get overhere are far less than the American releases in the completeness and extra's departments.
Of course, not used to such delights, the reviews were few and far between, and even a magazine that has been devoted to the more off-multiplex kind of films had them reviewed by someone who didn't seem to have a lot of knowledge on the subject and reverted to the well known platitudes, hoping to get a cheap laugh out of his offerings. As he was so far off the mark I coulnd't resist to react, and much to my surprise (and showing a fine attitude from the editor!) my article reviewing the DVD-reviews was actually printed in the next issue!

Two more titles were released in december 2008: THE TOXIC AVENGER and BLOOD SUCKING FREAKS, this time by Donut Films, who also announced THE TOXIC AVENGER II for release in January. So things seem to be on the up in this funny country.

BLOODSUCKING FREAKS is basically the same version as the USA-release by Troma itself, THE TOXIC AVENGER has been given a special treatment, incorporating most extra´s from the original DVD release, including Lloyd Kaufmans hilarious and informative audio-commentary. But also a number of the most important items from the 21st anniversary release have been included on the Dutch disc, making it a very good overview of Toxies entire carrer. And the rediculously low price makes these releases impossible not to buy.
Time to start letting potential buyers on the websites here know about this as well. In Dutch this time (basically the same thing I said on the English languaged websites, with the above information added).
JAMES GUNN'S SLITHER

With the release of James Gunn´s SLITHER in the Netherlands, Dutch distributor DFW (Dutch Film Works) not only gave the film a much better cover than it's American release, but they also initially released it as a double disc in a wonderful tin can. What's more surprising is that, while the US-release didn't mention the most important of all extra's on the cover, the Dutch release had Lloyd Kaufman's video diary listed on the back of the cover! Of course this damned well should be mentioned, especially given the fact that James Gunn started his carreer with the co-scripting of TROMEO & JULIET and I am happy that at least on this side of the ocean they recognised the importance of this wonderful extra feature.
