NOTABLE DIRECTORS

There are those who either star in, write or direct a Troma film early in their carreer, and then move on to other things. We all know where Kevin Costner would have been without SIZZLE BEACH USA. Better examples are James Gunn, who managed to put a bit of Tromatic flavour in even his Scoobie Doo scripts and then went even further with his brilliant debute as a director SLITHER. And don't forget a guy like Chad Ferrin who, after his first feature film UNSPEAKABLE was released by Troma went on to direct a few more titles that found there way through other distributors, but were still as fantastic as his beautiful first one.

Then there are some directors who have several titles released by Troma, and made quite a name for themselves because of it. And with some luck more of their creative output will come to us in the near future, as they seem quite committed to Lloyd and Michael. Rightly so, as without Troma we would probably njot have seen some of the gems they made, or maybe even never have heard of these directors. Because of their place in the Troma universe I give them a special place of their own here as well.

AIDEN DILLARD is a filmmaker with fantastic views on the world, and certainly wouldn't have much chance to have his films released in this unfiar world if it wasn't for Troma. His first feature film MEAT WEED MADNESS is outstanding, and it's follow up MEAT WEED AMERICA (starring Debbie Rochon) is ready for release - can't wait for that one to be released later in 2008. By Troma, of course. Totally original. Absolutely brilliant. Check Aiden's website for more madness and genius, along with some previews of his next release and current production!

WARREN F. DISBROW JR  is an auteur who has had some of his work released earlier, but since a fine treatment of some of his films got when released by Troma, they get a bit more distribution. ANother one Troma released was never released before, and another one appears to be planned as well. A guy to be reckoned with. Check what he does on VHS with no budget and imagine what this would be like when he would have something even closely resembling a tiny budget. On the other hand, his total creative freedom is worth so much more than any amount of money could ever buy. Warren also has a very extensive website, with all the info on his work you will be looking for.

GIUSEPPE ANDREWS must be one of the most unique and underrated filmmakers who is rather known for some parts he played in popular films like Independence Day and Cabin Fever. In his spare time he creates films that need some getting used to for most people, but once you understand where he is coming from blow you away like not much else. Initially with a small camera, a cast of friends (and he has some characters as friends!) and a lot of creativity he directs, writes, produces and sometimes stars in a still growing number of films that are unlike you EVER experienced. And if it weren't for the adventurous mkinds of Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz I am convinced his art would never have been know outside said friends. This guy is going to be talked about in centuries from now.
